Connection check

When a subscriber calls saying “I have no internet”, the first thing to do is Check connection. In a few seconds it shows what Farava knows about the connection and where the problem is.

  1. Find the subscriber with the global search (name, phone, username, or IP).
  2. On the service page, select Check connection.
  3. After each change, select Check again.

Connection check shows these five in order:

Message What to do
Active / Active until … Nothing wrong.
Expired — renew to reconnect Renew
Suspended — resume the service to reconnect Resume
Not activated yet Activate the subscription
Paid period has not started yet The period starts on the date shown; if needed, Start paid plan now
Cancelled Cancelling cannot be undone; create a new subscription.
Message Meaning
Network access allowed Farava allows sign-in.
Blocked — … The reason is in the message; see Quota and suspension.
Network rules are in observation mode and not enforced The system is in observe mode; no blocking is applied.

If you see “No password set” or “The password was revoked”, set the PPPoE password. If it says “No login username assigned”, service setup is not finished; select Finish setup.

The most important part: the subscriber’s latest sign-in attempt and its result.

Message Cause and what to do
No recent login attempts Nothing reached Farava: the subscriber’s modem or router is off, a cable is down, or the router (NAS) is not connected to Farava.
Rejected — wrong username or password Compare the username and password on the subscriber’s modem with Farava, or reset the password.
Rejected — the router (NAS) is not recognised The router is not registered or enabled in Farava, or its RADIUS source IP is wrong — see Register a router.
Rejected — the customer is already connected elsewhere The same username is online somewhere else; disconnect the old session.
Rejected — the IP pool … An IP pool problem — see IP pools.
Rejected — the service is suspended / the paid period has ended / the data allowance is used up Go back to “Service” and “Network access”.
Accepted … on … Sign-in was fine; check “Session”.
Message Meaning
Online since … The subscriber is connected. If they still have no internet, the problem is likely in the network path or their device, not in Farava.
Accounting updates stopped — the customer may still be online The router has not reported for a while; check the router or its link to the server.
Offline — last seen … The subscriber is disconnected; look at “Last login”.
Has never connected This service has never connected.

The buttons under Connection check go straight to what’s needed: Renew, Set password, Login attempts, Sessions. For more detail, see Logs and diagnostics.
