Renew, suspend, and cancel
All of these are under Service controls on the subscriber’s service page (Customer → Services → open the service).
What is a paid period?
Section titled “What is a paid period?”A subscription is made of paid periods. Each period has a start and an end (the plan’s validity, for example 30 days). When a period ends and the next one is not paid, the subscriber cannot connect until the service is renewed.
- On the service page, select Renew.
- The Renew subscription dialog shows the current period, when the new period will start, the cost, and the customer’s available credit.
- Select Confirm renewal.
The cost is taken from the customer’s credit now and an invoice is issued, but the current period is not touched. The new period starts when the current one ends, and until then it shows as Upcoming renewal — Paid and reserved.
- Only one upcoming period can be reserved. Another renewal becomes available once that period has started.
- If the customer does not have enough credit, first record a payment or use Renew on credit.
Renew with another plan
Section titled “Renew with another plan”To change the subscriber’s plan from the next period, select Renew with another plan and choose the New plan. Payment is posted now and the new plan starts when the current period ends. The PPPoE username and password do not change.
Start a paid period early
Section titled “Start a paid period early”If the subscriber has already paid for the next period and wants it to start now (for example their quota is used up), select Start paid plan now. The current period ends immediately and the paid period starts from this moment. There is no second charge, but the rest of the current period is lost.
Renew on credit
Section titled “Renew on credit”When a customer cannot pay right now but you want service to continue, select Renew on credit. The next period starts as with a normal renewal; the customer’s existing credit is used first and the rest stays as an unpaid invoice with a due date.
Renewing on credit is possible only when the customer has a credit limit, has no overdue debt, and has not used up the limit. See Renew on credit and credit limits.
Suspend and resume
Section titled “Suspend and resume”Suspend stops the service: the subscriber can no longer sign in, and if they are online their session is disconnected. To restore it, select Resume.
- Disconnecting the online session after suspension usually takes a few seconds, provided the router is set up for remote disconnect and the system is in enforce mode — see Quota and suspension.
- Suspending is different from Disconnect on a session. Disconnect only closes the current session and the subscriber can reconnect.
Cancel
Section titled “Cancel”Cancel ends the subscription permanently and cannot be undone. Cancelling also retires the PPPoE username so it can no longer connect. If after cancelling you see Disable remaining access, select it to close any remaining access.
Cancelling does not give money back. If some money must be returned, record it separately as a refund.
