What does “online” mean in Farava?
Section titled “What does “online” mean in Farava?”Farava knows who is online from the router’s accounting reports, not by asking the router. When a subscriber connects the router sends a “start”, every few minutes an “update”, and when they disconnect a “stop”. If accounting is off on the router, the subscriber is connected but shows as Offline in the panel — see MikroTik setup.
All sessions
Section titled “All sessions”Network → Sessions (the “Accounting and sessions” page) lists every session. Search by exact PPPoE username or filter by state.
| State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Online | The session is open and the router is reporting. |
| Stale | The session was open but the router has not reported for a while. The subscriber may still be connected. |
| Incomplete | Some reports did not arrive; usually the router’s clock does not match the server. |
| Closed | The session has ended. |
| Quarantined | The reports do not agree and were set aside for investigation. |
Disconnect a session
Section titled “Disconnect a session”On the session’s row, select Disconnect, then Request disconnect. Only that session closes; the service stays active and the subscriber may reconnect. To stop them reconnecting, suspend the service.
A disconnect is a command sent to the router. See its result (succeeded, failed, pending) under Network operations.
One customer’s sessions and traffic
Section titled “One customer’s sessions and traffic”On the customer’s page:
- the Sessions tab — current and past sessions across all their connections;
- the Traffic tab — a Daily (30 days) or Monthly (12 months) download and upload chart. Use Show as table to see the numbers.
Days and months follow the ISP time zone and calendar in Presentation settings.
Traffic chart messages
Section titled “Traffic chart messages”| Message | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Live | Sessions are still active, so the numbers may grow. |
| Accounting is behind | Recent reports have not arrived yet; the latest bars may be lower than reality. |
| Some accounting data is missing | The totals are incomplete. |
Don’t read a low or zero bar as low usage before checking these messages.
Usage and quota this period
Section titled “Usage and quota this period”On the service page, Usage this period shows usage in the current paid period against the Data allowance: used, remaining, and percent. For an unlimited plan it shows “Unmetered plan”.
Usage totals
Section titled “Usage totals”On the same Sessions page, Usage totals shows each username’s total traffic and online time since the start. For period reports, see the Usage and Sessions reports under Reports.
