Record a payment and print a receipt

Every amount you receive from a customer — cash, bank transfer, or another method — must be recorded in Farava so it is added to the customer’s credit.

  1. On the customer’s Billing tab, select Record payment. (You can also record a payment from Finance → Payments; there you first search for the customer by name, number, phone, or email.)

  2. Fill in Payment details:

    Field Meaning
Amount In Afghanis, with two decimals, for example 1500.00
Payment method Cash, Bank transfer, or Other
Received at When the money was actually received
External reference Optional; for example a bank transfer number or paper receipt number
  3. Select Post payment.

The payment is added to the customer’s credit immediately and covers their oldest open debts first. If the customer paid for an activation or renewal, you can now activate or renew.

After posting, open the payment and select View receipt, then Print to print it or save it as a PDF. The receipt uses your ISP name and logo from Branding.

State Meaning
Available customer credit Not used for any invoice yet
Partially applied Part of it has covered one or more invoices
Applied to invoice Fully used for invoices
Reversed Cancelled out by a reversing entry

Finance → Payments lists every payment in the current workspace, newest first. For total collections over a date range, see the Collections report in Reports.
