PPPoE username and password
Every internet service has a PPPoE username and a password that are configured on the subscriber’s modem or router. Both are created when you install the service.
Reset the password (the most common support task)
Section titled “Reset the password (the most common support task)”- On the subscriber’s service page, open Edit service and go to the Credentials tab.
- Select Reset password, enter the New password and Confirm new password (at least 5 characters).
- Select Set password.
The old password stops working for future sign-ins. The current session may stay online; the subscriber must use the new password when they reconnect. If they should reconnect with the new password right away, disconnect their current session from Sessions.
Revoke the credential
Section titled “Revoke the credential”Revoke credential removes the password completely: the subscriber cannot sign in until a new password is set. Use it when a password has leaked. To stop service temporarily, suspend instead.
Change the username
Section titled “Change the username”The PPPoE username is not edited directly. To change it, the old name is retired and a new PPPoE identity is assigned to the service. This is done by an administrator from Administration → Support / System records → Internet services. A retired username cannot get a password again; every name stays in the Identity history.
Common messages
Section titled “Common messages”| Message | Meaning |
